Today we will talk about men’s casual jackets and men’s classic day-to-day style.
Most of us do not spend a lot of time on the selection of a costume, the formation of style and image, a detailed selection of combinations and all that jazz. We usually dress a certain way according to a simple algorithm: we put the clothing that caught the eye first, as long as it corresponds to the weather outside. It is not anything special at all and it requires nothing. That is how casual appears (someone manages to do it bearable and someone doesn’t).
But still the men’s jacket is not considered to be a casual element. It is peculiar of business style as an outfit for businessmen and a part of the meetings (not those with flags but those of the word “meet”). Jacket is always something for the special occasions. On the daily bases and under normal weather conditions of mid-spring, the men tend to choose a thin jacket, sweater or cardigan rather than jacket. Excellent choice. I have nothing against cardigan or thin Harrington, yet why not to choose a jacket?
You may ask – why jacket?
The jacket is not only a business or elegant style. Jacket is a men’s classic the same as classic blue jeans, white shirt, shoes with lacing and boxers. If the boy is old enough then it’s time to try on the classic men’s style and stop pretending to be a perpetual student.
Speaking of classic men’s style, I mean a standard which was formed by millions of men for decades, rather than just a suit for the night out. I’m talking about casual style where the jacket is fully applicable.
So what do we know about men’s casual jackets?
We know that a jacket is cross functional. Keanu and driver John can wear it and it is not clear whom it will suit better. We already know that a jacket which is worn separately from the suit is called a sports jacket or blazer. We know that the jacket can be worn with jeans. We know that last button of a jacket mustn’t be buttoned. We know a lot about casual jackets. It’s time to put this knowledge into practice. Now is the perfect time as the weather is mild. I would wear a jacket 7 months a year and the only thing that prevents me from doing it is the cold season and the lack of warm underground parking.
